Introducing Newt, a dog marked by a distinctive scar that his mother gave him at birth. Because of his scar, he has an always depressing appearance, which has won him the charming moniker “grumpy old man” from fans. Further contributing to his distinctive look is the upper portion of his nose, which he lost in a regrettable experience with his mother’s bite when he was a baby.
At first given to the New York Bully Crew Shelter in Texas, USA, because of the outrageous expenses of his medical care, Newt’s story took an unexpected turn when Liesl Wildhart intervened to give him a fresh start in life. Owner of the Luvable Dog Rescue and Animal Sanctuary, Liesl renamed Newt from Brute when she brought him into her Eugene, Oregon, home.
In a society when most people value beauty, the tale of the most ugly dog in the world is a touching monument to resiliency and metamorphosis. Meet Scruffy, a dog whose looks could only be called unusual. Scruffy would have been written off at first sight with his messy fur, crooked teeth, and unusual snout that looked to go against canine beauty. But his path from judged ugly to discovering joyful company is an amazing story of atonement.
The narrative of Scruffy started in the most unlikely place. Born into a litter of puppies, he was instantly surrounded with a hard reality. Unable to raise her whole brood, his mother bit Scruffy in a stressed and hopeless moment, leaving him with a few physical scars that accentuated his unusual look. Still, Scruffy’s spirit was intact even with a difficult beginning. A committed rescue group that saw past his appearance and identified his capacity for love and happiness brought him in.

Scruffy’s behaviour changed in tandem with his health. His previously dubious gaze warmed, and his once wary gait became exuberant leaps.
Although Scruffy’s path to a permanently home was fraught with difficulties, his narrative turned around when a loving family saw past his appearance and developed affection for his strong will. Despite, or maybe because of, Scruffy’s unusual appearance, now he leads a life full of comfort, love, and the delight of being appreciated. His narrative reminds us gently that every living thing’s heart and spirit define actual beauty.
Their accidental meeting happened on social media, when Newt’s charming movies and pictures won over the heart of his future owner. Newt started a voyage of love and companionship with Liesl’s other furry friends, Picasso and Wacku, which they documented on their shared Instagram account.
While at first Newt struggled to adapt to his new surroundings, he now flourishes in the tender care of his owner and his four-legged siblings. His face characteristics have been changed surgically, giving him an amphibian appearance and adding to his ever-growing social media fan base.
Newt has issues, such eating problems, but his unwavering love and care from Liesl help him to maintain his unwavering spirit. Although Picasso and Wacku, his brothers, also have facial abnormalities, their relationship goes beyond looks to create a happy and peaceful canine family.
Dogs, once given a loving home, Liesl says, embrace life with unrestrained excitement, free from worries about what they might have lost. Resilience, love, and the appreciation of uniqueness rule supremely in Newt’s path, reminding us all of the transforming potential of acceptance and compassion.
